CERTIFICATE IN QURANIC LANGUAGE STUDIES

The aim of the Certificate of Quranic Language Studies programme me is to equip students with the various branches of knowledge of Al Quran Language Studies which include the knowledge of Aqidah, Quranic Studies, Hadith Studies, Shariah, Akhlaq and Tasawuf, Islamic Thoughts and Philosophy, Da’wah and Religious Comparison. This programme aims to give students an understanding of how the scholars in the field analyse and solve issues in the community based on major resources by showing a correct understanding of how to apply the knowledge acquired. Students are also able to do fact-finding on issues related to Islam to give a proper understanding to the local community. This programme also focuses on the integration of knowledge in the field of Quranic Language Studies by offering elective courses. Through this certificate programme me, students are given skills that enable them to provide services and assistance to bodies and organizations responsible for Islamic affairs. The programme me also equips students with competencies that are in line with the needs of the present and the global environment as well as having Islamic moral, ethical and spiritual values.
Duration of study
Study course for 4 semesters (1 year)
Entry requirements
- Have a Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM) with at least three (3) honors in any subject
- Pass the Malaysian Skills Certificate (SKM) Level 3 MQF in a related field and have an SPM with at least honors in one (1) subject and through a strengthening program (if necessary); or
- Pass a Community College Certificate equivalent to MQF Level 3 in a related field and possess SPM with at least honors in one (1) subject and through a strengthening program (if necessary); or
- Passed a certificate (MQF Level 3) in a related field with at least a CGPA of 2.00; or
- Pass STPM or equivalent with at least Grade C (CGPA 2.00) in one (1) subject; or
- Pass STAM (Maqbul rank); or
- Other recognized equivalent qualifications.
